THE
PURCHASER'S SOLICITOR.
Start with the opinion of another Solicitor consulted in the case.
He states that :
1. There was undoubtedly extreme delay on the part of x in processing
the purchase of the premises between...13/10/1987 and the date
of the fire 26/6/1988. Nothing appears to have been done by
O.F..The negligence took place more than 6 years ago.
2.
A prudent Solicitor should always advise his client to immediately
arrange his own insurance... or in the alternative obtain proof
from the vendor that the premises are ... insured and have the
purchaser's interest noted thereon..if it is now accepted that
X were negligent ... it is our view that such an action is...statute
barred.
WOULD
YOU WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH X GIVEN THAT THE SENIOR PARTNER CANNOT:
1. COMPLETE A CONVEYANCE IN OVER 9 MONTHS
2. PERFORM THE CORRECT PROCEDURES RE INSURANCE.
